Electrical Engineer – Data Centre
This role sits on a complex data centre project where precision, coordination, and technical discipline are critical to successful delivery.
You will be responsible for managing the electrical engineering lifecycle from design review through to commissioning, ensuring that installation matches design intent and that systems are fully tested, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical designs and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and technical issues
- Validate cable sizing and provide engineering recommendations
- Manage technical submittals and ensure timely approvals
- Track procurement and verify delivered equipment against specifications
- Monitor supply chain progress in line with construction programme
- Coordinate with BIM teams to ensure buildable, coordinated design solutions
- Liaise with design teams and vendors to ensure system integration and performance
- Conduct electrical system walkdowns and ensure compliance
- Prepare and manage test packs, FTOPs, and O&M documentation
- Support commissioning activities and manage specialist vendors
- Deliver client training where required
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience on large-scale electrical projects (data centre experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation, and commissioning processes
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple technical workstreams
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy
