Overview
Experteer Overview In this role you will lead a high-impact research portfolio for Electrification, coordinating global resources to drive new concepts, technologies and IP. You’ll shape strategic tech roadmaps with Business Lines and the CTO, and foster collaboration between Research Centers and business units. You’ll set targets, oversee execution, and ensure funding alignment while maintaining external partnerships and IP governance. This position offers global impact and a chance to advance ABB’s electrification technology roadmap. Responsibilities
Define strategic research direction and develop global technology roadmaps for electrification products and services Coordinate global research activities and resource allocation across centers Foster a culture of innovation and connect research with business objectives through partnerships with centers and lines Set targets and oversee execution of technology roadmaps and project portfolios Manage transfer of technology and knowledge between Corporate Research Centers and internal partners Maintain relationships with universities and innovation partners and support marketing around research Oversee legal contracts for IP and licensing related to research Ensure financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring of research progress against targets Qualifications
15+ years in Research or R&D with experience in electrical distribution or related industries MS in Engineering discipline; PhD preferred Familiar with core Electrification technologies: electrical systems, power electronics, switching & protection, intelligent systems Innovative thought leader and outstanding communicator Able to connect research to division strategic needs Effective project portfolio manager Benefits
