What you will do
EMEA Commercial Operations and Transformation Director is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the commercial operating model across the region. Reporting to the regional Vice President and General Manager, this role provides strategic direction and execution leadership across commercial planning, operating cadence, performance management, governance, transformation delivery, and cross-functional alignment. The role acts as a trusted partner to senior leadership and as a force multiplier for the regional commercial organisation, ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into disciplined execution, measurable outcomes, and sustainable business improvement.
How you will do it
- Lead the design and execution of the regional commercial operating model, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, annual plans, resource deployment, governance, and performance outcomes.
- Own the regional commercial planning process, including annual operating plans, long‑range planning, in‑year performance recalibration, and alignment of commercial priorities with financial and strategic objectives.
- Establish and continuously improve the regional governance framework and operating rhythm, including business reviews, forecast cadences, leadership forums, transformation reviews, town halls, and commercial performance checkpoints.
- Provide senior‑level oversight of regional performance management, including scorecards, KPI tracking, risk and opportunity identification, executive reporting, and preparation of high‑impact insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Lead strategic transformation initiatives across the commercial organisation, from problem definition and root‑cause analysis through to action planning, implementation governance, benefit tracking, and change adoption.
- Act as the regional leader for commercial process excellence, driving improvements in forecasting, pipeline management, territory and account planning, sales process discipline, incentive deployment, and operating consistency across markets.
- Champion LEAN and continuous improvement practices across the region, coaching leaders and teams to identify performance gaps, solve complex business problems, remove waste, and improve execution quality.
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional transformation programmes involving sales, finance, marketing, customer service, supply chain, operations, professional services, and global support teams, ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely delivery.
- Drive commercial insight generation through rigorous analysis of performance trends, productivity, conversion, margin, customer outcomes, and operational bottlenecks, translating findings into strategic actions and executive decisions.
- Serve as a key advisor to regional leadership on execution risks, organisational effectiveness, transformation priorities, and operating model choices that support profitable growth and improved customer experience.
- Provide governance for commissions and selected commercial policies and processes in partnership with Finance and HR, ensuring transparency, discipline, and effective execution.
- Strengthen organisational capability by identifying gaps in tools, processes, and ways of working, and by supporting the rollout of training, enablement, and adoption initiatives that improve commercial effectiveness.
- Own preparation of executive‑level communications, business updates, and strategic materials that align leaders and teams around priorities, progress, decisions, and required actions.
- Where applicable, lead or indirectly manage project resources, workstreams, or support capabilities tied to regional transformation priorities, setting clear expectations and reinforcing accountability for delivery.
What we look for
- Significant experience in commercial operations, business transformation, sales operations, strategy execution, or a related leadership role within a complex, matrixed organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional programmes and influence senior stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and analytical capability, with the ability to convert data and ambiguity into clear priorities, actions, and decisions.
- Proven track record of driving change, improving operating discipline, and delivering measurable business outcomes across multiple teams or markets.
- Experience engaging with senior or executive leaders and preparing high‑quality materials, recommendations, and communications for leadership decision‑making.
- Strong project and programme management capability, including governance design, milestone tracking, risk management, and benefit realisation.
- Confidence in leading transformation across different cultures, countries, and business contexts, with the judgement and resilience required to operate at senior manager level.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, operations, or a related discipline preferred; advanced business, transformation, or continuous improvement credentials would be advantageous.
- Strong alignment between regional strategy, operating plans, governance, and execution across the commercial organisation.
- High‑quality and consistent commercial operating cadence, with effective leadership reviews, forecast discipline, action follow‑through, and executive readiness.
- Improved visibility to performance, risk, and opportunity through robust scorecards, analytics, and insight‑driven decision support.
- Successful delivery of strategic transformation initiatives, with measurable business impact in growth, productivity, margin, process effectiveness, or customer outcomes.
- Improved forecasting accuracy, pipeline quality, planning discipline, and consistency of execution across countries, teams, or business units.
- Stronger cross‑functional alignment and faster resolution of complex operational and commercial issues affecting execution and customer experience.
- Evidence of sustained continuous improvement capability within the region, including stronger problem‑solving discipline, governance maturity, and adoption of improved ways of working.
- Credible senior leadership partnership demonstrated through influence, strategic contribution, quality of recommendations, and effective execution of high‑priority regional initiatives.
