THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners have been retained by a market leading PE Backed Retail business in Milan to secure a proven Systems Accountant who has excelled within an international environment, reporting directly into the CFO.
This is a key strategic hire, working in close collaboration with EMEA Accounting Leaders and the broader IT Leadership on key systems projects.
The EMEA business of his global brand has revenues of €500m with a positive EBITDA and this position will be based at the companies HQ in Central Milan.
They are looking for someone with an accounting background and a strong track record of developing internal financial ERP systems and consolidation tools within an international environment.
THE ROLE:
This opportunity offers a very broad and interesting remit where you will be the main point of contact across EMEA for any queries on system utilisation around the month end close and consolidations, in addition to supporting with key systems related projects across the region.
You will be a visible on-site leader within the Milan HQ, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.
You will be a strong communicator with a collaborative and service driven approach.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete month-end close procedures, eliminations and consolidations, controls, account analysis.
- Complete variance analysis of consolidated results, as well as other analytical procedures.
- Provide EMEA time-zone support, to help resolve any EMEA time challenged month-end matters
- Implement and complete special projects as assigned, with particular focus on IT aspects and financial systems.
- Assist in system integration in transition of consolidation (ERP) systems.
- Maintain close communication and build relationships with key finance personnel across the Region.
- Standardise documentation to ensure accurate reporting and assist in establishing key internal controls.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (or equivalent).
- Progressive experience in Finance/Accounting with a strong focus on Systems.
- General accounting experience with knowledge of GAAP in an international environment.
- Prior experience working with Hyperion and/or other consolidation systems.
