Engineer I, Controls

In this role you will maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment within scope, leading automation and control initiatives. You’ll steer Capex automation projects from concept to commissioning, coordinate with system integrators, and ensure IT/OT alignment. The position focuses on improving equipment reliability, process control, and overall efficiency through structured engineering support and continuous improvement. Lead controls scope for Capex projects from concept to commissioning and validation Coordinate external integrators and vendors to align new lines with standards and IT/OT architecture Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, system architectures, and BOMs Drive SPC-driven projects and support development of SPMs to improve operational efficiency Ensure safety norms are followed across all processes Provide engineering support to close breakdowns and maximize machine uptime Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain 5S standards at the workplace Minimum 5-7 years in maintenance/automation in manufacturing or industrial environment Strong troubleshooting of electromechanical control systems and continuous manufacturing equipment Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, SIEMENS, DELTA, MITSUBISHI) Experience with VFD & servo programming and commissioning (ABB, SIEMENS, DELTA) HMI & SCADA programming and troubleshooting (AB, SIEMENS, DELTA) Diagnostics of Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus communications Knowledge of electrical power systems and control drawings FMEA and RCA analysis familiarity Basic hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting leadership problem-solving communication PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, SIEMENS, DELTA, MITSUBISHI) VFD and servo tuning and commissioning (ABB, SIEMENS, DELTA) HMI & SCADA programming Engineer I, Controls novara, piemonte, it
