For our multinational client company specialized in the production of electromechanical components and systems, we are looking for a INGENEERING DIRECTOR.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Director leads the Engineering function, ensuring effective technical strategy, product development, engineering governance, resource and budget management, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role owns the Engineering processes and monitors their consistent application across the organization, including Engineering Services and Technical Support activities performed within the Business Segments, which report functionally to the Engineering Director for engineering standards, processes, and technical governance.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Define and execute the Engineering strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the Engineering function and directly manage Engineering and R&D teams, ensuring the required skills, capabilities, and priorities.
- Define, maintain, and improve Engineering and Product Lifecycle processes, standards, tools, and best practices.
- Monitor the application of Engineering processes across the organization, including Technical Support activities through functional reporting lines.
- Manage the Engineering budget, resources, capacity planning, KPIs, risks, and project execution priorities.
- Lead product development, innovation roadmaps, validation, certification, industrialization, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, environmental, safety, and sustainability requirements.
- Provide functional governance over Engineering Services activities, including reliability analysis, FMEA methodologies, RAMS/EN50126 certification, product safety, homologation, and liaison with certification authorities.
- Provide functional governance over Product/Business Segment Technical Support activities, including technical support to sales and customers, documentation alignment, drawing reviews, FAI participation, and technical coaching.
- Oversee product certification and technical compliance documentation, acting as authorized signatory where required.
- Drive Intellectual Property strategy, patent portfolio management, continuous improvement, and audit follow-up actions.
- Represent the company in relevant technical and standardization committees.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of electronic and electromechanical components and systems for industrial applications.
- Extensive leadership experience in Engineering, R&D, Product Development, or similar technical functions, including functional governance of Engineering Services and Technical Support activities.
- Strong knowledge of engineering governance, product development, reliability, certification, lifecycle management, budgeting, capacity planning, and technical support processes.
- Experience with product safety, homologation, compliance documentation, and international standards in industrial or transportation sectors.
- Experience coordinating an international engineering network, including Engineering staff in other locations, especially Best Cost Country Engineering Centers.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Experience working with different cultures.
- Openness to international travel.

The compensation package consists of: a gross annual salary of € 90,000 + € 15,000 MBO + a company car for mixed use.
