We are seeking an experienced EHS Lead to oversee all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on a major data centre construction project in Milan, Italy. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of best-in-class safety standards, drive a positive safety culture, and ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of the project's Environmental, Health & Safety programme.
Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS legislation, company procedures, and project requirements.
Review and approve risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture across all project teams.
Lead and mentor the site EHS team where applicable.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety interventions, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
Deliver safety briefings, inductions, and awareness initiatives to personnel.
Manage hazardous substances, environmental controls, and associated reporting.
Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Maintain accurate EHS documentation and provide regular reports to senior management.
Requirements
Proven experience leading EHS on large-scale construction projects (data centre experience highly desirable).
Previous experience managing and developing an EHS team.
Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
