Position Title : HSE Senior Specialist (focus O&M) Italy, EMEA, RE
Department : QHSE
Reporting to : Sr. Manager Global Health & Safety Operations
Responsibilities
- Being appointed and act as delegato della sicurezza on behalf of the employer (datore di lavoro ) for O&M business unit entities.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated.
- Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.
- Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Support investigations on critical H&S issues and help drive solutions.
- Engage engineering and procurement in supplier evaluation.
- Develop and maintain project and supplier H&S plans.
- Complete risk assessments and job hazard assessments in support of site activities.
- Ensure adequate training/awareness of company personnel for H&S requirements.
- Prepare statistical data which will show H&S trends for the organization.
- Support the review and auditing of contractor’s H&S program and that plans are acceptable to the company’s H&S requirements.
- Help support project teams with written technical responses to Customers / Subcontractors on H&S issues as required.
- Ensure Customer/Owner Satisfaction is monitored/measured, with improvement/ corrective actions taken in a timely manner.
- Support the develop a robust H&S program to support the O&M teams in the operation and maintenance of solar and battery storage plants.
- Lead the documenting and maintaining of processes and ensure all are released through the relevant Document Control system.
- Maintain and administer NCR reporting process, ensuring they are addressed promptly investigated, corrective actions are proposed, implemented, and closed out promptly.
- Support Lessons Learned initiatives.
- Provide oversight on site H&S requirements.
- Responsible for technical responses to customers on H&S issues, lead investigation and drive corrective actions in conjunction with Project Teams.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine H&S and reliability standards.
- Lead and manage internal audit program, provide trainings, coaching internal audit teams.
Work Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of OHS experience in an equivalent role within construction project, industrial processing, or other civil or environmental remediation experience.
- College diploma or university degree within an OHS or related field from an accredited national, European, or international program.
- Specific training in Environmental, Health & Safety in accordance with current national or European legislation.
- Specific knowledge / technical expertise on lithium- Ion battery, high voltage electrical equipment including ARC flash and construction safety preferred.
- CSP OR CMIOSH designations an asset.
- Working knowledge and experience of work platforms, documental or management ones.
- Technical & practical OHS knowledge, on various topics such as hoisting & rigging, ground disturbance, fall protection, excavation and trenching, heavy equipment operation, emergency & hazardous material release response, electrical safety, confined space.
- Detailed practical knowledge of local, national and European requirements. OHS legislative requirements, compliance frameworks, standards, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills well developed listening skills, and ability to interpret business and/or client needs as part of OHS compliance oversight effort.

- General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint and other cloud-based software.
- Strong leadership abilities and confident, consistent decisive personality.

- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Desire for innovative thinking and continual learning.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, mediation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel.
