Founding Software Lead / Future CTO
Institutional-Grade Wealth Management & Trading Platform
Milan hybrid · Equity-bearing · Rust/Linux/Python · ~60 travel days/year
We are building an institutional-grade automated wealth management and trading system.
The prototype already works in paper: multi-asset engine, signal stack, regime detection, trading logic, and automated/manual workflows. Now we need to take it to production level: Rust where it matters, Linux infrastructure, real broker and bank integration, audit trail, monitoring, resilience, and security.
This is not a normal job post. We are looking for our first technical hire, someone who can become a co-leader, not just execute tickets.
You start as a freelancer for three months, contracted through our Cyprus company on a fixed monthly rate. If the fit is right and after the next funding round closes, the role transitions into a senior executive position: Software Lead first, CTO over time, with meaningful equity.
You will lead the rebuild of the production trading system in virtualized Linux, primarily in Rust, with Python where appropriate for ML inference, research, news/data pipelines, and integration glue. You will help define the final architecture, set up infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, disaster recovery, code quality, and engineering discipline. You will work directly with the founders and later grow the engineering team.
Mandatory requirements:
Rust as your primary language.
Some understanding of C++.
Strong Python for ML, data, scripting, and integration work.
Production-level Linux/sysadmin competence.
Daily fluency with Claude and other AI coding tools.
Git, CI/CD, observability, and production engineering basics.

Third , competence. You do not need to be a Stanford 10× engineer. You need to be genuinely good at Rust, Linux, systems thinking, and execution, while still being a decent human being.
Age is irrelevant. What matters is appetite, discipline, and the will to build.
This is not a corporate role. There is no HR machine, no career ladder, no perks brochure. It is also not a three-month contractor gig. The first phase is a mutual test before building something much larger together.
