European Payroll Service Delivery Manager

In this role you ensure accurate, compliant payroll delivery across Europe and act as the primary interface between Ramboll, payroll vendors, HR, Finance, ICT, and other stakeholders. You own service performance, governance, escalations, and continuous improvement within a global payroll function supporting a hybrid/remote European delivery model. You lead payroll governance, support country onboarding and transformations, and strengthen processes and knowledge management across Ramboll’s payroll landscape. This is a chance to shape payroll service excellence in a foundation-owned, sustainability‑minded company.

Responsibilities

• Own operational and governance relationships with external payroll providers, including scope, contracts, out‑of‑scope requests, and vendor accountability.
• Manage service performance via SLAs, KPIs, calendars, governance meetings, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Act as escalation and stakeholder contact for HR, Finance, ICT, vendors, and senior leaders across Europe with clear risk, issue, and change communication.
• Support payroll transformation, onboarding of countries, acquisitions, integrations, migrations, automation, and AI‑enabled improvements, plus service readiness.
• Maintain governance, controls, audit readiness, compliance risk oversight, operating procedures, knowledge transfer, disaster recovery, and continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multi‑country payroll operations or payroll service delivery, preferably in outsourced/vendor‑led models.
• Experience overseeing third‑party payroll vendors, contracts, SLAs, KPIs, governance forums, and improvement activities.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with HR, Finance, ICT, vendors, and senior leaders.
• Proven ability to lead governance, incident management, project delivery, service recovery, and change initiatives.
• Excellent English and German communication skills.
