As Executive Director, Medical Affairs Italy, you will shape the medical vision across Oncology, Hematology and Immunology and lead a key European Medical organization. You will influence affiliate strategy, partner with the scientific community, and drive medical insights that translate into patient outcomes. You will build an inclusive, high-performing team and align cross-functional colleagues to deliver a cohesive medical plan. - Define and execute local Medical Affairs strategy for Oncology, Hematology and Immunology
- Prepare and manage local Medical Affairs plans and budget, reallocating as needed
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company guidelines; promote ethics and integrity
- Review and approve scientific/medical materials for accuracy and inclusivity
- Provide medical review and sign-off of drug information letters, publications, and educational grants
- Facilitate education and training for medical and commercial field force
- Lead advisory boards and investigator meetings data discussions
- Set ambitious targets and coordinate with IAI Senior Medical Advisors, MSLs and local leadership
- Develop and maintain relationships with thought leaders and investigators
- Liaise with the Clinical Operations Director for site selection, recruitment, and IIR management
- Participate in EU Medical Affairs projects and lead integrated medical planning
- Collaborate across Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access and other functions
- Coordinate departmental trainings and represent Italy in strategic groups
- Support development of medical leadership and culture across the affiliate
- Represent Incyte Biosciences Italy in pharma associations and international forums
- Oversee IIR proposals at local level and ensure timely execution
- Travel and matrix-based collaboration to drive cross-functional alignment
- 10+ years of Hematology/Oncology experience
- MD (preferred) or PhD with significant academic/clinical/pharma experience
- Ability to travel 15-20% (accommodations for disabilities)
- Strong leadership and matrix-management capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Public speaking proficiency
- Knowledge of clinical trial design, biostatistics, medical writing, product safety, and regulatory affairs
- Experience with medical strategy development and cross-functional execution
- Proven ability to engage thought leaders and build partnerships
- Proven ability to hire, mentor and retain medical staff
- Experience with reimbursement dossiers and medical information review
- Familiarity with Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) and national/international studies
