Expert Quantum Hardware Engineer at Eniquantic will contribute to the design, realization, and assembly of a quantum computer based on optically trapped individual atoms and develop experimental techniques for neutral‑atom quantum computing protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Conception, design, and development of innovative hardware solutions for quantum computation with arrays of Rydberg neutral atoms trapped in optical tweezers.
  • Construction and assembly of experimental apparatus components and testing of the complete system.
  • Execution of experimental research activities aimed at studying and implementing quantum computing protocols through manipulation of atomic qubits.
  • Collaboration with engineering teams in developing electronics, software control, synchronization systems, and high‑efficiency optical systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physics or Physical Engineering; alternate degrees with strong relevant experience may be considered.
  • PhD in Physics or related fields is highly recommended.
  • At least 3 years of research and development experience in quantum technology or comparable areas.
  • Experience with optical and electro‑optical instruments and in designing/free‑space and/or fiber‑based optical setups for quantum computing or simulation experiments.
  • Experience with low‑noise, single‑frequency laser sources of high spectral purity.
  • Experience with experimental techniques based on neutral Rydberg atoms for quantum computing (preferred).
  • Experience with two‑electron atoms, especially Ytterbium, for quantum technological applications (preferred).
  • Experience in realizing ultra‑high vacuum (UHV) setups for quantum computation or simulation experiments (preferred).
  • Knowledge of experimental atomic physics and experience with atomic cooling/trapping, coherent manipulation of quantum states with electromagnetic radiation, and high‑resolution imaging of atomic systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of English.
  • Availability to travel.
