This is a rare opportunity to join one of the paddock’s most recognised outfits in a pivotal technical role.

The Role

This is a multifaceted trackside and factory-based role that blends performance engineering, electronics/systems, and IT infrastructure responsibilities. You’ll be accountable for ensuring the reliability and competitiveness of the F2 cars across testing, races, simulator work, and rig activities.

Working closely with the Race Engineers, Technical Director, and mechanics, you’ll manage everything from data systems and car programming to telemetry analysis and vehicle modelling. A strong understanding of electronic systems and the ability to optimise performance under pressure is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and reliability of car electronics, sensors, and harnesses
  • Operate and maintain data and telemetry systems across race/test events
  • Conduct in-depth analysis on clutch maps, tyre degradation, and driver performance
  • Oversee garage IT setup including radios, Wi-Fi, data servers, and engineer workstations
  • Attend all FIA Formula 2 races and tests; support simulator and rig testing activity
  • Collaborate with race engineers to support qualifying and race strategy decisions
  • Maintain and benchmark dampers and contribute to heave performance development
  • Conduct in-field electrical troubleshooting and sensor calibrations
  • Manage post-session analysis, issue documentation, and team reporting
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers (e.g., Marelli, MRTC) for all systems and support
  • Take ownership of simulation development and vehicle modelling
  • Support driver coaching, reporting, and manual updates
  • Actively assist in pitstop procedures and team operations

Key Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Motorsport, or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in FIA F2 or FIA F3 environments (essential)
  • Expertise in motorsport telemetry/data systems (Marelli, Bosch, etc.)
  • Strong background in vehicle systems and trackside electronics
  • Capable of managing complex systems including rig/sim testing workflows
  • Skilled in MATLAB, Pi Toolbox, Atlas, or similar data tools
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Fluent in English (Italian a plus)
  • Willingness to travel to all events and work high-pressure race weekends
  • EU work eligibility required (visa sponsorship available for the right candidate)

Preferred

  • Experience supporting dual-car operations at the Formula level
  • Prior work in simulator development, rig testing, or vehicle correlation
  • Hands-on experience with team infrastructure setup: pitwall, truck, and office connectivity
  • Solid understanding of the FIA Technical Regulations and documentation practices
