The main responsibility of the FAE position is to proactively support Vicor power solutions into various market opportunities incl
· Industrial
· Aerospace & Defense
· Automotive
· High Performance Computing
This involves coordination with Business Development Managers, Account Managers, Internal Business Partner while providing pre-and post-Sales technical support including product selection based on the customer’s application needs, product introduction and DIN assistance from an electrical, mechanical and thermal aspect, and troubleshooting customer systems if required.
Job Details/Ta sks
- Articulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical users
- Business /Relationship development focused
- Direct – business development done directly with customers and their technical community
- Distribution – business development done in conjunction with channel partners at target accounts
- Capture technical requirements and architecture of a customer’s system and act as the liaison to Product Line Engineers
- Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle to the customer engineering staff
- Schematic review and project support on existing customer programs
- Coverage of incoming customer phone and e-mail technical inquiries
- Regular customer visits requiring 30-50% travel
- Prepare content and conduct technical seminars and conferences
- Provide product training to selected customers across the various segments
- Assist with hand-on product evaluations in local LAB
- Enable Channel Demand Creation supporting the respective Organization by Technically qualifying new opportunities and helping to increase the conversion rate from New Design identified to Design Win
- Supporting customers channel customer on technical issues
- Visiting channel customers for application engineering support
- Visiting Distribution Branch Offices for technical product trainings/presentations
Qualifications, Experience and Attrib utes
- The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years related experience in either analog/power supply design or analog-based applications engineering
- Capable Electronics Technician skills
- Good understanding of analog circuit designs
- Solid written/verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, hardworking, results orientated, problem solver focused on driving business
- A high level of interpersonal skills, ability to present to audiences
- Maintain a balance between short-term achievement and long-term development
- Business acumen
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian
- Full clean driving license
