AGCO is seeking a talented Field Mechanical Technician to join our Engineering Department. This role is ideal for a skilled mechanic interested in working full-vehicle to combine harvesters within a flexible, team-based engineering and prototyping environment, with opportunities to travel across Europe.
In this role, you will play a key part in building, modifying, and diagnosing combines, headers, and test equipment. You will also support field validation activities, including operating and testing harvesting equipment during the harvest season.
Your Impact Perform high-quality mechanical assembly, modification, and troubleshooting on prototype combines and agricultural systems to support engineering builds and product development programs.
Interpret engineering prints, CAD models, schematics, technical drawings and engineering instructions to execute machine assembly. Install, inspect, and integrate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on prototypes, ensuring functionality and readiness for testing.
Support prototype validation and debugging by identifying issues, performing rework, and providing practical feedback to engineering teams.
Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to build, test, and refine combined systems with a focus on performance, durability, and continuous improvement.
Drive and operate prototype combines in field conditions, conducting testing and validation activities at partner farms located across Europe. Travel to test locations to support field test engineers, gather performance data, and provide hands‑on feedback regarding machine operation, reliability, and operator experience.
Qualifications Minimum of 1+ years of experience maintaining, repairing or assembling agricultural equipment, heavy machinery, or similar mechanical systems in a manufacturing, engineering, or field environment.
High school diploma or equivalent in mechanical skills relevant to equipment maintenance.
Interest in learning and cross‑training in Electrical & machine software installation is a plus but not required. Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word for communication, documentation, and collaboration across teams.
Good communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers and technicians. Ability and willingness to operate and test agricultural machinery (combines preferred) in field environments; valid car driver’s licence required; truck licence is preferred.
Willingness to travel across Europe to support field testing and validation activities at partner farm locations. English basic knowledge required at minimum.

Compensation Applicable salary range: €25,000 – €35,000 gross annual salary.
