Location: Lombardy, ideally Milan or Bergamo areas
Who will you be working with? Evident Inspection Technologies, a Wabtec company, is a world leader in the manufacture of innovative inspection equipment used in industrial and research applications across aerospace, power generation, petrochemical, civil infrastructure, automotive, and consumer products industries.
How will you make a difference? As Field Service Engineer you will participate in installation and maintenance activities of large NDT solutions at customer sites and execute feasibility studies for new applications.
What will your typical day look like?
- Fine tuning and optimization of PLCs programs and HMIs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and/or others)
- Active participation in the installation of new systems with the project team, supporting adjustment and testing of automation software and related hardware
- Supervise and implement automation projects
- Propose and integrate developments and innovations in system automation
- Supervise, from the technological direction standpoint, developments on the automation platforms
- Understand application requirements of various technologies
- Provide maintenance training to customers
- Participate in the design of electrical plans for the automation part
- Support after‑sales service activities
- Be present on site during installations
- Perform feasibility studies supported by NDT specialists in Evident Integration Centre in Opera (MI)
- Represent a PoC for customers for maintenance activities and problem resolution
- Perform any other related task requested by the immediate superior
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Experience in programming industrial and automation equipment or systems installation
- Professional knowledge of English and Italian (French is an asset)
- Basic knowledge of robotic programming and C++/C# would be an asset
- Basic knowledge of how to perform maintenance on electromechanical systems
- Knowledge of NDT, ultrasound or eddy current would be an asset
- Customer oriented and capable of delivering trainings
- Capability to work independently, organized and methodical
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Availability to travel up to 50% in EMEA, for about 2 weeks monthly in a row when necessary.
