A growing international energy platform is strengthening its investment and development function in Italy and is seeking a Financial Analyst to support M&A and partnership initiatives.
The role focuses on financial analysis, modelling, and investment evaluation across greenfield and brownfield opportunities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders in business development, investments, and operations, contributing analytical insight to strategic investment decisions.
This is an ideal role for a finance professional looking to deepen exposure to energy-sector transactions while remaining strongly hands-on in analysis rather than full transaction ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis & Modelling
- Collect, consolidate, and analyse financial and operational data related to investment opportunities
- Re-adapt and maintain financial models (project and transaction level cash flow models)
- Perform valuation, sensitivity, and scenario analyses
- Support analysis of returns, risks, and value drivers across investment options
- M&A & Investment Support
Support M&A and partnership transactions across:
- Preliminary assessments
- Market analysis
- Due diligence
- Coordinate inputs from internal teams and external advisors during transaction processes
- Assist in the preparation of investment committee materials, including financial summaries, assumptions, and key recommendations
Market & Strategic Analysis
- Conduct market and sector analysis related to the energy business
- Support strategic assessments of specific technologies, geographies, and business models
- Contribute analytical insights to broader business development initiatives
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, development, legal, and operations teams across Italy and Europe
- Support coordination with external advisors involved in investment activities
Profile
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or business school background is advantageous
- Minimum 2-3years of experience in Financial modelling
- Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or utilities sector is strongly preferred
- Exposure to M&A processes (even in a supporting or analytical capacity) is desirable
- Strong financial modelling skills (project finance, cash flows, valuations)
- Advanced Excel capability; PowerPoint for investment presentations
- Strong analytical, structuring, and synthesis skills
