At Jaipur Robotics, we're building AI-powered solutions that transform the waste industry — turning complex data into automation, efficiency, and environmental impact. As a fast-growing, VC-backed clean-tech startup based in Switzerland, we work with leading waste operators across Europe and are now scaling our hardware and operations capabilities to support rapid deployment in the field.
What we are looking for We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to support the deployment of our AI-powered vision systems in industrial environments. This role focuses on the installation, configuration, and debugging of cameras, networking devices, and field hardware at customer sites. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure reliable system deployment and smooth commissioning, and stable cloud connectivity. You will build and own our deployment and commissioning function, defining the processes and best practices for bringing complete edge AI systems online for industrial customers, from on‑site hardware setup to network configuration, system testing, troubleshooting, and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare installation material before customer deployments
Install and configure edge computers, industrial cameras, networking equipment, and other sensors
Configure Linux-based edge computers, routers, switches, and local network infrastructure
Support wiring, cabling, mounting, and hardware setup on-site
Perform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging during installation
Support remote and on-site commissioning activities
Document installation steps, issues, and technical configurations
Coordinate with software, hardware, and AI teams to solve field issues
What we offer
Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and Computer Vision technologies deployed in industrial environments
A high level of ownership and responsibility from day one
Direct collaboration with the founders and a multidisciplinary engineering team
A fast-paced, innovative startup environment where your work has a real impact
Travel & expense policy fully covered for installations and site visits
Flexible work setup: hybrid across Europe with regular in-person sessions
Requirements
Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Automation, Electronics, or related technical field
Background as IT technician, computer engineer, PLC programmer, or technical diploma holder
Comfortable working with Linux (Ubuntu), SSH, and command-line tools
Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, routers, switches, VPNs, and basic firewall configuration
Comfortable interacting with customer IT teams, electricians, and plant operators during deployments
Experience or interest in camera installation and configuration
Hands‑on attitude and problem‑solving mindset
Ability to work in industrial environments
Willingness to travel frequently
Good English communication skills
