Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer , you must be team-oriented , actively seeking to share information and assist your colleagues. You possess strong oral and written communication skills , and you demonstrate a solid methodology for troubleshooting electronic repairs , along with a good understanding of the product.
You will receive cross-training on products repaired in the field and are expected to show competence in maintaining the Trace or X-Ray product lines . You must be available to work on special projects , including high-visibility assignments. You investigate recurring problems and attempt to solve them either independently or with the help of others .
You have practical knowledge of PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint , enabling you to provide clear and concise reports when necessary. You will troubleshoot, provide support, install, and repair equipment such as Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) , Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) , or systems like CXS and CIS at customer sites.
You maintain detailed records of all activities and properly manage the field service documentation and archiving system until the job is completed. When not traveling, you will support the Technical Support team. You are also responsible for conducting follow-up calls with clients to verify system status.
Your Responsibilities
- System installation
- Operator training
- Periodic maintenance of X-Ray units and SD products
- Compilation of service reports and technical documentation
- Fault detection and repair
- Ensuring proper operation of machines and systems
- Managing control units in accordance with the Service Contract
- Providing technical support to customers
- Managing tools and spare parts
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Solid technical knowledge of electronic or automated systems
- Diploma in Electronics or Industrial Automation
- Good knowledge of PC and Networking
- Basic knowledge of Linux, QNX, and DOS
- Experience with PLC systems and Industrial Automation

- Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent customer orientation
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage stressful situations
- Willingness to travel up to 85% of the time
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs (approx. 23 kg) without assistance
- Proficient in English
