Randstad Italia Spa Inhouse Division is looking for a Functional Test Engineer for a leader company operating in the electronic systems
You will have responsibility for designing, implementing, and optimizing Functional Test (FCT) processes for PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) and complex electronic systems, ensuring the highest product quality while minimizing cycle times and testing costs.
- Act as customer interfacing along the whole product life cycle (from RFQ to EOL) for all technical testing items (specifications, DFT-coverage, troubleshooting)
- Manage cross-products planning with the target to respect time and cost constraints
- Manage project documentation and provide updated KPI
- Identify key risks (timing, safety, coverage) and deploy related contingency plans
Qualifications
- Engineering graduate in the field of electronic and/or Manufacturing Engineering
- Fluent in English or French
Key responsibilities
- Test Strategy Development : Develop functional test strategies based on technical specifications and Design for Testability (DfT) principles.
- Software Development : Write and maintain test code (using languages such as C, C++, LabVIEW, Python, and TestStand) for instrumentation interfacing.
- Hardware Design : Design and integrate custom test fixtures, connection interfaces, and electronic load circuits.
- Process Optimization : Analyse production data to identify defect patterns, reduce false rejects, and optimize test execution times.
- Troubleshooting : Perform root cause analysis on test failures and collaborate with the R&D team to propose design or process improvements.
- Documentation : Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), calibration instructions, and technical manuals for production operators.
- Maintenance : Manage preventive and corrective maintenance of test systems installed on the production line.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Elctronic or Phisyc Engineer
- Software Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of test development environments (NI LabVIEW, TestStand) and automation-oriented programming languages (Python, C/C++).
- Instrumentation: Hands-on experience with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, programmable power supplies, and electronic loads.
- Electronic Skills: Ability to read complex electrical schematics, understand digital logic, analogue signals, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN bus, Ethernet).
- Methodologies: Familiarity with IPC standards and Lean Manufacturing principles applied to Quality Control.
- Capability of working towards tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team with proved problem-solving skills.
