We are seeking a Geophysicist/Geoscientist with passion for R&E. Are you interested in pushing geophysical technology to new frontiers? If so, you might want to join our small dynamic team of global Geosolutions experts here at SLB!

Job Summary:

The Geosolutions Geophysicist is responsible for contributing to various processing projects with a broad range of different acquisition and data processing techniques and requiring knowledge and understanding of geophysics and geology.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Innovation: Develop cutting-edge solutions in geophysical data processing and imaging, and AI to bring significant value to SLB. We are working on transitional technology for the next decades of applied geophysics at an industrial scale!
• Real-World Impact: Focus on complex and real geophysical challenges, develop and test the developed solutions on real geophysical data.
• Multi-displicinary collaboration: engage with different departments to define and drive all the stages of technological development, from prototyping to deployment in production. This includes drafting new solutions technical solutions, presenting them to experts in the team and making them ready to evolve into a commercial product.
• Knowledge Sharing: Disseminate new technologies and research findings by writing patents, publishing scientific journals, presenting at technical meetings and conferences, and engaging with external professionals.

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD degree in Geophysics, or a related field such as Physics, or Engineering with relevant work experience in coding.
• Academic background or experience in O&G, particularly in data processing/imaging and machine learning for seismic and other geophysical measurements.
• Technical Proficiency in computational programming and use of high-level languages (Python, MATLAB) for algorithm development.
• Knowledge/familiarity with digital signal processing techniques constitutes a plus.
• Experience with Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) constitutes a plus.
• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills in English.
• Right to work in Italy
