Global Retail Director – Luxury Fragrance Maison

We are partnering with one of the world’s most distinctive luxury fragrance maisons to appoint a Global Retail Director, based in Milan.

Founded on a spirit of discovery and craftsmanship, the brand is renowned for its limited-edition compositions, biotech innovation, and gallery-style retail spaces that blend olfactory artistry with cultural storytelling. With boutiques in key cultural capitals including London, Milan, Tokyo, and several prominent European cities, it has redefined what modern haute parfumerie can be — intimate, intentional, and deeply rooted in place.

As Global Retail Director, you will have full strategic and operational responsibility for all global boutiques. This is a rare opportunity to lead the retail vision for a brand that views its spaces not as stores, but as sensorial journeys — where each client encounter is personal.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and execute the global retail strategy, translating brand values into every physical and human touchpoint
• Drive performance across boutiques, ensuring KPI excellence and client satisfaction
• Lead boutique expansion and refurbishment plans in key luxury locations worldwide
• Recruit, train, and inspire teams globally to deliver an exceptional, ceremony-driven service experience
• Oversee retail operations, CRM, inventory management, and P&L across all markets
• Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver a seamless brand experience

Candidate Profile

This role suits a highly experienced retail leader from the worlds of ultra-luxury fragrance, fine jewellery or couture fashion. You understand the nuances of elevated clienteling, retail theatre, and the importance of physical space in delivering brand magic.

You will bring:

• A minimum of 10 years’ leadership in international luxury retail, ideally in experience-led or fragrance-led environments
• Proven ability to scale and elevate boutique networks while preserving intimacy and exclusivity
• A hands-on, strategic mindset and the emotional intelligence to lead culturally diverse teams
• Fluency in Italian and English (additional languages such as French or Spanish are advantageous)
• Availability to travel internationally up to 30 percent
