About the Role
As Global Senior Toxicologist, you will be part of the Food Safety & Quality department and be the Group subject matter expert on toxicological food safety risks, especially contaminants, directly reporting to the Food Safety & Product Integrity Manager.
Main Responsibilities Monitor external scientific, technical and regulatory evolutions in the field of chemical Food Safety (e.g. environmental and process contaminants) using horizon‑scanning best practices. Leverage new developments when relevant and evaluate potential business impact to enable science‑based and informed business decisions.
Drive the risk anticipation process from risk identification to risk mitigation. Ensure all emerging or evolving risks are managed properly by involving required functions and delivering risk assessments in all circumstances. Implement state‑of‑the‑art toxicological assessment methodologies and tools to conduct robust risk analysis across the value chain to predict and prevent potential Food Safety issues.
Support product design, sourcing, and manufacturing, including crisis and incident response, to enable informed business decisions. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide toxicological expertise throughout the entire product life cycle.
Create, develop, and nurture a scientific external network and strong partnerships. Stay up to date with scientific evolutions, studies and emerging risks. Support the creation of a global scientific engagement strategy on Food Safety topics and build a scientific advisory board of internationally recognised experts to maintain state‑of‑the‑art expertise within the Group.
Represent the Group in worldwide Food Safety and selected Food Safety organisations, events and conferences to increase credibility and shape external Food Safety standards.
Develop internal capabilities with training, methods and tools to equip different functions.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or a related field.
Solid experience in Quality, Food Safety, Chemical Safety or Risk Management roles.
Deep knowledge of the Food sector and background in structured, multinational companies.
Fluent English and strong communication skills across diverse teams.
Analytical skills with natural leadership and the ability to meet ambitious goals.
Benefits The role is classified at Level Dirigente under the National Collective Agreement (CCNL Dirigenti Industria). The guaranteed minimum base annual gross salary established by the CCNL for the applicable level is €85,000. The compensation package also includes an annual variable component with a target of up to 25% of base salary. The overall compensation will be determined based on the experience, skills, and qualifications of the selected candidate.
