Grid Connection Engineer – Utility Scale Solar (Italy)

We are partnered with a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) driving the expansion of utility-scale solar PV projects across Europe. With a strong commitment to sustainable energy generation and environmental responsibility, our client is actively contributing to the growth of renewable energy in Italy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess grid connection feasibility and available capacity with network operators during early-stage PV project development
• Evaluate grid-related risks, timelines, and costs to support site selection and project prioritisation
• Coordinate and optimise grid connection solutions with network operators and external service providers
• Advise internal teams on grid operator requirements, feedback, and regulatory considerations
• Manage external consultants and associated costs related to grid connections for solar projects
• Secure grid connection reservations and technical approvals throughout the development phase, ensuring compliance with deadlines and milestones
• Act as the primary point of contact for all grid connection matters across development, engineering, and external stakeholders

Candidate Profile

• Degree or vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Renewable Energy
• Proven experience in grid connection processes, including a strong understanding of Italian network operator procedures, guidelines, and application systems
• Ability to interpret grid studies, connection offers, and technical requirements at medium- and high-voltage levels
• Proactive, results-driven mindset with strong collaboration skills
• Fluency in Italian and English

Location: Rome OR Milan

Work Environment: Hybrid after 6 months, in office for the first 6 months
