About the role

You'll work closely with our technology team, flexing your expertise across the entire product lifecycle - from design and analysis to manufacturing, integration, and verification . This is not just a desk job; you'll be actively involved in the physical builds, installation, and testing of e-pump demonstrators . You will have the opportunity to transform innovative designs into high-performing hardware, participating directly in the development and critical validation of key aerospace technologies that will power the world’s most advanced propulsion systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform R&D activities that span from systems engineering to detailed design of e-pump components
  • Develop, implement and maintain computational and experimental processes
  • Build computational models and verify them with available datasets
  • Define and implement control systems for turbomachinery
  • Definition, rapid-prototyping and integration of e-pump components in non-functional models and functional prototypes
  • Develop test activities and schedules, run experiments and analyze test results
  • Work closely with partners and suppliers
  • Practice flexible prioritization and scope management to achieve ambitious milestones
  • Challenge the status-quo and restlessly look for ways to speed-up processes and activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality


Your profile

  • Master degree in mechanical, aerospace or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of work experience in research, technology or development positions
  • Competences in control systems and thermal management
  • Experience in electrical power train integration
  • Experience in prototyping and lab testing, including instrumentation and acquisition systems
  • Modeling and programming experience in Matlab, C++
  • Experience using commercial CAD tools. SOLIDWORKS package is a plus
  • Proactive, focused, analytical with a can-do attitude
  • Passionate about aerospace and propulsion technology
  • Fluent in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • EU work permit | No visa sponsorship
  • Available to relocate to Genoa, Italy
  • Available to travel to support hardware manufacturing and test activities


Other useful experience & skills

  • Experience developing hardware from concept to validated prototypes
  • Track record of impacting product development through completion of computational and/or experimental campaigns
  • Development of cooling and thermal management solutions
  • Experience using commercial CFD and FEM tools. ANSYS package is a plus
  • Knowledge of Italian language is a plus
