Head of Engineering
Our client is a leading company in Italy in the field of electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment for the aerospace and defense industry. The company is looking for a Head Of Engineering, reporting directly to the CEO, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team and technically overseeing complex projects in compliance with quality and safety requirements and, where applicable, the necessary certifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the skills of a multidisciplinary team (i.e. Mechanical, Hydraulic, HW, FW, SW, Radio Frequency).
- Lead the evolution of the team’s competencies, in order to introduce new products in the portfolio, in line with the company strategy.
- Plan, execute and monitor project activities, managing performance on scope, time and cost.
- Oversee the technical product development process, ensuring compliance with the applicable specifications and regulations (civil and military).
- Identify and manage technical and operational risks.
- Interface with internal stakeholders (i.e. operations, sales, program management, etc.) and external stakeholders (i.e. customers and suppliers).
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of experience in the aerospace sector.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of aerospace certification processes.
- Familiarity with quality standards and development processes typical of the aerospace industry (e.g. ARP4754, ARP4761, DO160, DO178, DO254, MIL-STD).
