Head of Product Management

Overview

In this role you will lead the GPQSS Product & Solution Management team to drive long‑term profitable growth and strategic market positioning for a diverse power electronics and grid solutions portfolio. You will shape the roadmap, translate market insights into value propositions, and collaborate across engineering, sales, and regions to maximize competitiveness. You will manage lifecycle processes, governance, and cross‑functional innovation initiatives while fostering an intrapreneurial culture. This is a strategic, impact‑focused leadership role within Hitachi Energy.

Responsibilities

• 15+ years in product management, portfolio leadership, or system‑level roles in energy, grid, power electronics, or related tech
• Strong leadership of global, cross‑functional, multicultural teams; matrix experience preferred
• Deep expertise in grid technologies, power electronics, inverter‑based resources, control systems, and industrial hardware/software development
• Experience with startup ecosystems, technology scouting, M&A assessments, and venture/incubation‑style innovation; intrapreneurial mindset valued
• Proven ability to translate market insights into portfolio strategy and manage complex multi‑product roadmaps
• Highly collaborative, agile, and innovation‑driven with strong communication skills
• Fluency in English; passion for sustainability
• MBA/post‑graduate in Strategy or Marketing preferred
