Head of Risk

Overview

For the Central Team of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C), we are looking for a Head of Risk to join our Risk Engineering team. This role includes guaranteeing an integrated risk management system for Global Corporate & Commercial through the definition of the risk strategy, including risk appetite. Through the identification, monitoring and reporting of risk you will also support the management of the capital model.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the embedding of risk strategy into the business processes, aligning central and local initiatives
• Provide risk management oversight of key strategic projects and monitor the volatility and risk-adjustment performance of GC&C business, both on new initiatives as well as on the in-force portfolio
• Ensure the consistency of the local evaluation, perform the central consolidation and manage the reporting of the risk capital profile of GC&C on a regular basis
• Asses the GC&C Risk profile both in regulatory and managerial view and assure the alignment with GC&C business strategy and risk appetite, also through delivering specific KRIs
• Support the implementation of new legislations with an impact of GC&C Business in order to assure the consistency with Group Guideline and local legislation
• Support GC&C in the new Group strategical plan assuring consistency with the risk appetite framework
• Support and provide risk opinion (if needed) for GC&C strategical initiatives and evaluate mitigation actions (if required), also in collaboration with Local CROs;
• Support the design and maintenance of the reinsurance strategy
• Manage and maintain relationships with internal (GBA, UKB and Group Risk Management function) and, if any, with external stakeholders, included Supervisors (directly or through other Group functions)
• Collaborate with GRM and GBA Risk Team in the development of initiatives (innovative approach to manage risk, model changes, authority requests…) where GC&C business is significant in the respect of Generali Group
• Member of the Generali Group Risk Community and GBA Risk Community, supporting potential cross boarder initiative

Qualifications

• +7 years experience in Insurance Market, with experiences in risk/actuarial function, CFO or technical non life insurance area
• Solvency 2 and IFRS 17 technical knowledge, particularly in respect of P&C Business is welcome, as previous experiences in reinsurance, parametric business and ART
• Studied Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics or other quantitative disciplines, e.g. Engineering, Physics etc
• Insurance business processes knowledge
• Communicates effectively and appropriately
• Acts with proactivity and passion for excellent performance
• Simplifies tasks, quickly adapts to new situations and makes strategic decisions
• Embraces differences to make innovation happen
• Demonstrates an awareness of, and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from different cultures
• Quantitative, analytical mindset, problem solving skills
• Must be fluent in Italian, English, additional languages are an advantage
