Head of Strategic Finance

JOB SUMMARY: Executive responsible for Financial Performance Management (Long Term Financial Planning, Budgeting Forecast Accuracy, Gross Margin management, SG&A management, inventory efficiencies, Capex) for Fanatics Italy (part of Fanatics International). Part of the Executive Team reporting to the Fanatics Italy CEO.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure accuracy and credibility of reporting and forecasts provided by the Finance group.
• Lead the budget preparation process by partnering with department leaders to gather accurate data and drive accountability for budget accuracy.
• Establish profitability goals with the executive team and drive the company to achieve these goals.
• Align the financial plan with the company's vision and execute accordingly.
• Mitigate financial risks and maximize opportunities.
• Oversee and execute strategic mergers and acquisitions.
• Provide high-level financial analysis to influence business decisions.
• Develop and utilize financial models for analyzing trends and variances.
• Collaborate closely with Fanatics International Finance Team on reporting and strategic initiatives.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent; ongoing education is required due to changing tax regulations.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• 15+ years of experience in a Financial Management capacity, preferably in eCommerce/Retail and the apparel industry.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Strong management, organizational, team building, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent business acumen, industry knowledge, financial management, and strategic planning skills.
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all management levels.
• Proficiency in productivity, planning, and workload management.
• Strong decision-making, analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.

JOB LEVELS

Finance Executive: Oversees all strategic finance activities for Fanatics Italy, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and expense management. Participates in strategic planning and complex issue analysis, often involving negotiations and influencing senior leaders. Typically requires more than 15 years of experience in strategic finance.
