HSSE Manager (Offshore e Subsea Project)

On behalf of a major Client in the Oil & Gas industry, we are seeking a highly experienced HSSE Manager for a strategic project in the Mediterranean.

Project Overview

The successful candidate will be part of a high-profile team overseeing a strategic project involving the construction of new sealines and the revamping of existing offshore platforms. This is a long-term assignment based in Milan (Home Office) , with a project duration extending through December 31, 2027 .

Key Responsibilities

The role focuses on high-level document supervision, technical review, and administrative compliance to ensure the project meets all safety and regulatory benchmarks:

• Document Supervision & Review: Systematic review, commenting, and validation of HSSE plans, operational procedures, and JSA (Job Safety Analysis) submitted by contractors.
• Technical & Process Safety Oversight: Providing expert input on Technical Safety deliverables, including Safety Concept documents, Fire & Gas layouts, and Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analysis (EERA) .
• Safety Studies Support: Reviewing and participating in Process Safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIMOPS , ensuring that findings and recommendations are correctly integrated into project documentation.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring all project documentation aligns with international O&G standards (e.g., API, ISO, MARPOL), local Mediterranean regulations, and specific Client requirements.
• Technical Revision: Providing expert feedback on HSE documentation related to subsea installation and platform revamping activities.
• Reporting & Administration: Accurate management and compilation of project timesheets , HSE statistics, and periodic reporting.
• Interfacing: Acting as the HSE technical point of contact for the Engineering and Project Management departments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in HSSE roles within the Oil & Gas sector, with a specific focus on Offshore and Subsea projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid background in Technical Safety and Process Safety methodologies applied to offshore platform modifications and pipeline laying.
• Regulatory Standards: Deep understanding of international HSE standards (ISO 45001, 14001) and specific offshore safety protocols.
• Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of Italian is a strong asset.
• Software & Admin: High proficiency in document management systems and precision in administrative tasks (timesheet management, reporting).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a corporate office environment.
