Job description: HSE engineer
Job Location: San Donato Milanese (Italy)
Reports to: Project HSE Lead
Profile seniority: 1 year job experience preferred
Job Duration: 12 months (MPP forecast till end of June 2026)
Academic background: Engineering or Science disciplines relevant to Occupational health and safety in construction works
Missions: Missions abroad to project worksite (e.g. Mozambique) possible but not mandatory
Certification: certification as RSPP or ASPP not required for this role
Certification: HSE certification is a plus (e.g. NEBOSH, ISO 45000, etc.) but not mandatory
Language: Italian native is ideal but not mandatory;
mandatory English language, written and spoken (fluent), ideal with certification (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, or similar) if second language.

Description
Project HSE management system
Develop, review, update project HSE procedures, policies and plans for all project phases, as directed by the project HSE Lead.
Capability to analyze Client HSE requirements and to plan the necessary actions to ensure compliance.
Subcontractor / Vendors management
Verify implementation of HSE contractual aspects related to subcontracted activities.
Act as point of contact in case of need with Vendors and Subcontractors.
HSE risk management
Knowledge of criteria, standards, main techniques for hazards identification, risk assessment studies, job hazard analysis, etc. during scope of work execution, including the hierarchy of controls.
HSE Work Practices
Understanding of the main HSE risks in Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation phase of the project, to contribute to safe work practices and environmental protection.
HSE reporting
Support the project HSE team with HSE data analysis, reporting, notifications
HSE in procurement and tendering
Support the project HSE team with technical bid evaluation of tenders; preparation of bids for HSE materials and services (e.g. PPE); HSE requirements in tenders
