We are looking for a skilled and proactive Import Manager to oversee the full import cycle of porcelain tiles from global suppliers to our warehouses. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant flow of goods from international sources, particularly from key markets such as India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and China . The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of international shipping logistics, import regulations, and strong experience working in the building materials or tile industry .
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end import process for goods arriving from international suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all customs, import/export, and trade regulations (e.G., HTS codes, Incoterms, duty rates, etc.).
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Monitor and track incoming shipments, resolve delays, and communicate status updates to relevant teams.
- Negotiate freight rates, service agreements, and contracts with logistics providers.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, documentation, and compliance-related materials.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiency.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and finance departments to align import logistics with business goals.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in trade policies, tariffs, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in import/export or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and international shipping documentation (e.G., Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List).
- Experience with freight and customs brokerage coordination.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred:
Working knowledge of Incoterms, freight negotiations, and port operations, Experience with import compliance audits and trade documentation. - Fluent in Italian and English – required for all documentation, customs communication, and internal coordination. Proficiency in any other languages is a strong plus
