Industrialization Engineer

Purpose of the job

The Project Industrialization Engineer is responsible to industrialize the maintenance, renovation/modernisation or warranty activity at the Depot, Repair Centre or Production site(s) in order to secure the production deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the requirements described in the maintenance plan.
• Draft and validate process documentation (Standard Operation Sheet).
• Identify necessary tools and materials, from the definition of technical specifications to field validation.
• Organize the layout (facilities, workstations, flow of materials/people, number of operators, civil works).
• Validate, with the project team, the optimal strategy to implement to maximize the saturation of production resources.
• Organize all maintenance activities in line with Alstom standard requirements (sequence of activities, cycle time, delivery times, packaging, workstation ergonomics, skills, EHS constraints and Quality requirements).
• Document management on SAP Railsys (task list, materials list, tools list).
• Validate the defined processes on the field with the operations team.
• Manage suppliers for the creation of the main equipment.
• Analyze and identify actions aimed at improving project performance.
• Respect assigned budget.
• Develop business cases to evaluate investment plans and implement Make or Buy strategies.

Requirements

• At least 2 to 5 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry, ideally in an international organization.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
• Technical experience of Methods Engineering, writing, and improving manufacturing and/or maintenance work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up.
• Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems.
• Proven ability to innovate and manage change.
• Excellent teamwork skills and ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
• Desire to learn and grow completing the profile.
• Fluent in English and Italian.
