Infra Delivery Manager

In this role, you will drive operational excellence, optimize data center deployment strategies, and create seamless connectivity solutions that support Amazon’s cloud services.

Selected AWS infrastructure leaders design, plan, deliver, and operate all AWS global infrastructure and support every AWS data center’s servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The team is made up of software, hardware, and network engineers; supply chain specialists; security experts; operations managers, and other vital roles.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage a group of technicians who install and build server rack capacity for customers.
• Develop and lead teams of technicians and engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring high performance.
• Deliver capacity to existing data centers and help build and activate new data centers.
• Continuously improve all processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
• Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
• Ensure adherence to and exceed local health and safety standards in all data centers.
• Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of data centers and use those metrics to drive positive changes.
• Assist in implementing service methodologies, including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.

This role supports data centers in various operational stages. It may be assigned to a facility still under development, requiring travel to established locations for training until the designated site becomes fully operational.

Essential Requirements

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational.
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility.
• Must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required by business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
• Minimum of 2+ years of management or team lead experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or Certified Network Defender (CND).
• Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnight, and weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
• Experience installing physical data center equipment, such as copper/fiber cabling and racks.
• Understanding of networking infrastructure topology.
