Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer — Foundational Cloud & Security Role

The Opportunity

Join us at the ground floor. As an early team member at Solomei AI , you'll have a direct hand in shaping the backbone of our AI-driven products. Your decisions on infrastructure, automation, and security will define how we scale.

From day one, you’ll own critical infrastructure initiatives — selecting the right tools, anticipating challenges, embedding security, and deploying resilient, scalable cloud environments. You'll work side-by-side with the founders in Milan, collaborating in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your impact is visible and rewarded.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform , CloudFormation , and other IaC tools — ensuring scalability , resilience , and security .
• Use Docker to build and manage containerized environments, standardizing workflows across development, staging, and production.
• Orchestrate containerized applications with AWS EKS and ECS , optimizing for performance , reliability , and cost-efficiency .
• Automate deployment pipelines, integrating DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, seamless CI/CD processes.
• Manage core AWS infrastructure services (e.g., EC2 , VPC , S3 , RDS , EKS , ECS ) to support scalable, high-availability systems.
• Support and fine-tune infrastructure for Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Model (LLM) workloads.
• Implement and maintain cloud security best practices — IAM governance, network security, encryption, and compliance monitoring.
• Proactively monitor system performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in both infrastructure and security posture.
• Document and standardize best practices for infrastructure, security, containerization, and deployment across the team.

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have

• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in AWS-centric environments.
• Proficiency in Terraform , CloudFormation , Docker , and container orchestration via EKS/ECS .
• Strong knowledge of AWS core services for building scalable , secure cloud applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD automation , scripting, and configuration management tools.
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles — including IAM, VPC architecture, encryption, and compliance tooling.
• A proactive, analytical mindset focused on efficiency , reliability , and security .
• A collaborative, ownership-driven attitude, excited to shape infrastructure decisions in a startup setting.
• Bonus: Experience deploying and managing ML/LLM models in production environments.
