Role Purpose

  • Act as the owner of commercial customer contract delivery, accountable for delivery on time and on cost, meeting contractual obligations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the main customer interface throughout the mission lifecycle (customization, build, launch, and operations).
  • Lead program reporting to the Service Manager, BU leadership, and customers, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end execution of spacecraft missions, integrating technical, commercial, and operational dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage missions end-to-end, from design and customization to launch and in-orbit operations.
  • Ensure adherence to cost, schedule, and performance baselines defined in customer contracts.
  • Integrate spacecraft build, payload customization, ground systems, launch providers, and operations into a cohesive mission plan.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers on mission execution.
  • Provide regular updates and formal reports to customers, ensuring transparency on progress, risks, and performance.
  • Monitor contract deliverables, milestones, and acceptance processes.
  • Manage internal and external resources (engineering, suppliers, subcontractors) to deliver on mission requirements.
  • Develop and maintain mission budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
  • Identify mission risks (technical, schedule, financial, regulatory) and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with space industry standards, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver accurate and timely program reports to the Service Manager, BU leadership, and customers.
  • Conduct mission reviews, lessons‑learned sessions, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain full documentation of mission execution, including risk logs, financial tracking, and customer correspondence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mission management.
  • Familiarity with space industry standards (ECSS, NASA, ESA, ISO) and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record delivering complex missions or aerospace programs under customer contracts.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/customers in a single mission/program.
  • Strong expertise in program/project management within aerospace or space missions.
  • Ability to manage cost, schedule, and resources effectively.
  • Proven capability to interface directly with customers and manage their expectations.
  • Solid understanding of commercial contract delivery in a technical/regulated industry.
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft lifecycle (customization, build, launch, operations).
  • Strong skills in risk management, reporting, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Performance Indicators

  • Missions delivered on time, within budget, and meeting scope.
  • Customer contractual obligations achieved without penalties.
  • Number of mission objectives successfully achieved.
  • Customer satisfaction scores (post‑mission feedback).
  • % of mission risks identified and successfully mitigated.
  • Timeliness and quality of program reporting to Service Manager and BU leadership.
  • Quality of lessons‑learned and process improvement adoption.
