Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an IT Network Engineer with basic knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) environments to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructures while contributing to the secure integration with industrial systems.
The role is primarily focused on IT networking, with exposure to OT environments to ensure proper connectivity, segmentation, and security in collaboration with automation and OT specialists.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN)
- Support network connectivity between IT and OT environments, following security and segmentation best practices
- Configure and manage network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot network issues in both office and industrial contexts, ensuring minimal impact on operations
- Collaborate with OT, automation, and cybersecurity teams for network-related activities
- Apply basic OT cybersecurity principles under guidance from security or OT experts
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as an IT Network Engineer
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls
- Basic understanding of OT environments, including:
- Differences between IT and OT networks
- Awareness of industrial systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
- Basic knowledge of industrial network concepts
- Understanding of network segmentation and IT/OT separation principles
- Familiarity with fundamental cybersecurity concepts
- Good English language
Nice to Have
- Introductory knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP)
- Basic awareness of OT security standards (IEC 62443, NIST)
- Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP)
Soft Skills
- Willingness to learn OT concepts and industrial networking practices
- Good communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Problem-solving attitude and attention to detail
- Ability to operate in structured and operational environments
- Available to frequent travels and drive a car in plants
