You will have the opportunity to personally contribute to the market entry and expansion in Italy of a European market leader in the development, investment, and management of logistics and industrial real estate, owner of the largest portfolio of its kind across continental Europe, within a long‑term growth and multi‑year investment environment.
As Senior Business Developer, you will be responsible for leading and structuring the land acquisition and pre‑development process, including urban planning and permitting, for the landbank in Northern Italy.
You will manage Build‑To‑Suit projects from the early scouting and identification of investment opportunities (greenfield and brownfield), through negotiation and contractual structuring, up to closing the acquisition, and subsequently oversee the permitting process through to the issuance of the building permit.
You will report directly to the Managing Director Italy and work in close coordination with the Development, Construction, Legal, and Finance teams, playing a key role in the establishment of the Group’s Italian platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Identification and assessment of investment opportunities and landbank expansion (land scouting) aimed at the subsequent development of industrial and logistics Build‑To‑Suit projects.
- Preparation of feasibility studies and technical assessments for high‑potential logistics and industrial assets.
- Management of negotiations with landowners and counterparties, including all contractual phases through to deal completion.
- End‑to‑end management of pre‑development activities, including coordination and supervision of urban planning, building, and environmental due diligence, liaising with external consultants, technical advisors, and local professionals.
- Analysis of applicable local planning instruments (PRG, PUC, PGT), definition of permitting strategies, and management of zoning changes, development plans, planning agreements, and equivalent statutory instruments.
- Active management of relationships with municipalities, regions, public authorities, technical departments, and local administrations to facilitate and accelerate permitting processes through to the granting of building permits.
- Support to the Managing Director Italy in strategic development decisions, providing risk assessments, permitting timelines, and feasibility scenarios.
- Ongoing collaboration with Development and Construction teams to ensure continuity between the planning phase and execution.
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Urban Planning.
- 3–5 years’ experience in acquisition, real estate expansion, pre‑development or development, or urban planning roles, preferably within logistics, industrial, or large‑scale developments.
- Proven experience managing zoning amendments, land‑use changes, and complex permitting processes.
- Strong knowledge of Italian planning and building regulations, administrative procedures, and public‑sector interfaces.
- Ability to interpret and coordinate planning documentation, feasibility studies, and technical reports.
- Structured mindset, high level of autonomy, and ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to cooperate with international stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel across Northern Italy.
