Lead Mobile Architect (m/f/d)

We Elevate... Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be part of our Milan Software Development Hub, an agile team developing modern software tools to shape the next-generation elevator software, meeting high quality and safety standards for Schindler's products.

Join our team to shape the future of mobile solutions, enhancing service quality and field efficiency. Lead the architecture of current and future mobile apps for fitters and technicians, ensuring alignment with platform vision and driving implementation within a global software engineering team.

Your future challenges will include:

  • Driving future-proof mobile app architectures aligned with strategy
  • Partnering with stakeholders to shape architectural vision and technology roadmap
  • Collaborating with product owners and teams on software architectural decisions
  • Ensuring platform consistency and critical interfaces through alignment with other architects
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers during implementation
  • Evaluating technology choices via PoCs and prototypes for optimal solutions
  • Contributing to sprint planning, challenge estimates, and design proposals
  • Promoting adoption of modern architecture practices for continuous improvement
  • Integrating commercial and open-source frameworks for optimal solutions
  • Participating in all development stages from planning to deployment
  • Guiding development teams and product owners on architectural decisions

You are a self-directed, organized, responsible, and reliable team player. Your ability to inspire, mentor, and guide both on-site and remote teams, combined with your openness to new technologies and agile development, fosters effective communication in an international organization. You lead by example.

  • Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of modern software engineering and architecture practices, including mobile app development
  • Proven track record of technical leadership
  • Passion for mobile apps and delivering excellent user experiences
  • Experience with UX/UI design, test automation, app analytics, and cross-platform development for iOS and Android, preferably using C# and MAUI
  • Proficiency with development tools like Git and JIRA, and familiarity with agile practices such as SCRUM/Kanban
  • Experience interfacing with cloud backends and establishing APIs
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian and German is a plus
