Stellantis is seeking a Junior Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the development of electronic actuators for internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid propulsion systems.

In this role, you will contribute to the engineering lifecycle of key powertrain components, working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, software, controls and suppliers. This position offers a structured learning path with increasing technical responsibility over time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and validation of electronic actuators for powertrain applications
  • Contribute to the definition of technical requirements (SOR) and component specifications
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams (design, software, calibration) throughout the development process
  • Support sourcing activities and participate in supplier technical reviews
  • Assist in APQP activities and support PPAP phases
  • Contribute to the analysis and resolution of technical issues during development and validation
  • Support DFMEA and validation plans (DVP&R) in collaboration with senior engineers and suppliers
  • Track development progress and support adherence to project milestones
  • Collaborate on component integration with other vehicle subsystems
  • Contribute to quality monitoring and continuous improvement activities


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related fields)
  • 1 or 2 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Strong interest in automotive systems and electronic components
  • Basic understanding of electrical/electronic component functionality
  • Familiarity (academic or internship level) with product development processes (e.g. DFMEA, validation, change management)
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Fluent in English and Italian


Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or thesis experience in automotive, electronics or powertrain-related fields
  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems, actuators, sensors or control systems
  • Exposure to testing or validation tools (academic or project-based)
  • Strong problem-solving attitude and proactive approach
  • Interest in working in an international and cross-functional environment
