About the role:
We are looking for a technically minded Junior Risk and Performance Analyst to join our Investment Team. In this role, you will support the investment teams on different tasks supporting the investment activities.
This is a hybrid operational role ideal for a candidate who has a passion for Finance but possesses the technical toolkit (Python/SQL) to automate workflows, create reporting. You will work directly with the investment team to streamline reporting, maintain data pipelines, and solve data discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Automated Reporting: design, automate, and distribute performance, risk, and P&L reports for Portfolio Managers and stakeholders using Python.
- Risk analyses: monitoring risk metrics and risk limits on the various investment lines.
- Performance Attribution: analyse the performance of the portfolios, identifying the main performance, risk and factor drivers and report and explain the outcome to portfolio managers.
- Reconciliation & Quality Control: calculate and investigate discrepancies between internal records and external counterparties.
- Database Management: write SQL queries to extract data for ad-hoc analysis, perform routine database health checks, and ensure data integrity.
- Process Improvement: identify manual operational bottlenecks and build scripts to streamline investment operations, with the help of dedicated engineers.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Financial Literacy: A solid understanding of financial markets, asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives), and core concepts (NAV, exposure).
- Programming Skills:
- Python: Proficiency in writing scripts for data manipulation (pandas, NumPy) and automation.
- SQL: Strong ability to write queries, joins, and manage database views.
- Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships included).
