Junior Material Engineer

Enereco S.p.A. is looking for a Material Engineer to join its team as part of the company’s growth strategy in the Oil & Gas and renewable energy sectors. The candidate will report directly to the Head of Mechanical Department and will be responsible for supporting the engineering activities related to the selection and specification of materials used in industrial plant design.

DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

• Development of technical material specifications according to project requirements.
• Selection of material properties based on service conditions and international standards.
• Continuous interaction with suppliers to collect technical data and ensure compliance.
• Technical evaluation of supplier offers and support to the procurement team.
• Coordination of inspection and quality control activities at supplier sites, when required.

Collaboration with other disciplines to ensure alignment on material-related decisions.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Interest or experience in industrial materials used in piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.).
• Knowledge (even theoretical) of corrosion phenomena (e.g., pitting, SCC, chloride/oxygen corrosion) and material compatibility with H₂S.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, ISO, API, DNV, EN.
• Understanding of passive protection coatings and welding processes is a plus.
• Proactive mindset, good problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
