Job Summary:
As a Structural Geologist, you will play a pivotal role in our regional to basin studies, primarily focused on the interpretation of multiphysics geophysical data. Your expertise in structural analysis and geological interpretation will be crucial in assessing subsurface structures and supporting the exploration and production activities of our clients, especially for energy transition applications. Responsibilities
- Interpret potential field data, including gravity and magnetic data, to derive structural lineaments and model the density and/or susceptibility distribution of subsurface structures.
- Assess the geological plausibility of subsurface models and evaluate seismic imaging products, ensuring they align with geological observations and interpretations.
- Conduct mapping of fault networks and deformation zones using various geoscientific tools and software to support subsurface characterization.
- Collaborate with geophysicists, geoscientists, and other stakeholders to integrate structural geology interpretations into the overall subsurface modeling process for regional to basin studies.
- Analyze seismic data, well logs, and other relevant datasets to build a comprehensive understanding of the study area.
- Provide geological expertise and recommendations, ensuring they are consistent with the geological plausibility of subsurface models.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in structural geology, incorporating new techniques and technologies to enhance interpretation capabilities.
- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to effectively communicate findings, interpretations, and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, or a related field, with strong focus on Structural Geology.
- Professional experience as a Structural Geologist, preferably in the energy industry, with exposure to different geological settings will be considered as a plus.
- Creativity in interpreting and providing context to results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to integrate geological interpretations into larger subsurface models.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently, involving diverse geological contexts and locations, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and deadlines.
- Curiosity for non-standard methods and their application, exploring innovative approaches to problem-solving.
- Possess a flexible mindset, readily adapting to learn and utilize new tools.
