Requirements

  • 2–5 years of proven experience in thermal modelling and analysis, preferably in the space sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related scientific disciplines.
  • Master’s degree in STEM or related scientific disciplines is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will contribute to the development of Thermal Control Systems (TCS) for satellites, payloads, and equipment units, covering the full development lifecycle from requirements definition to verification activities and thermal test support.

  • Support the development of TCS for satellites, payloads, and units.
  • Perform thermal analyses using software environments such as ESATAN‑TMS and Systema/Thermica at various detail levels.
  • Build, maintain, and update thermal mathematical models.
  • Conduct thermal analyses for on‑ground test predictions and on‑orbit temperature predictions.
  • Carry out trade‑off investigations in support of thermal architecture definition.
  • Assist in defining interface requirements with other subsystem owners (power, avionics, software, operations, and system engineering).
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of TCS design solutions.
  • Support the characterization and specification of thermal hardware elements.
  • Produce technical documentation and reports related to modelling and analysis activities.
  • Generate and correlate reduced thermal models.
  • Prepare thermal documentation, including specifications, ICDs, design descriptions, budgets, and verification reports.
  • Support thermal test definition and perform test predictions where applicable.
  • Assist during thermal system assembly, integration, and test activities.
  • Participate in thermal test campaigns, sometimes as thermal test conductor.
  • Correlate thermal models based on test data.
