Role Purpose

As an Ansys Lead Application Engineer, you will work with various customers in cloud/HPC solutions deployment, becoming a credible advisor for product development improvements. You will lead technical efforts focusing on scalability, robustness, and performance of solutions, shaping their deployment in real-world environments, and guiding team members in scaling solutions. Responsibilities include owning stress tests, refining deployment templates, and establishing best practices for containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, and CI/CD integration. Your leadership will ensure solutions are production-ready and scalable across diverse IT environments, developing end-to-end simulation solutions and expanding application areas and industry knowledge.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities throughout sales opportunities, including discovery, success criteria negotiation, product demos, and evaluations, working independently across teams.
• Engage with customers to understand their business initiatives, product needs, and workflows; analyze how Ansys products can meet goals and improve KPIs; communicate value to senior management.
• Guide project teams to develop and deploy differentiated simulation solutions using the Ansys platform.
• Deliver professional services and customer consulting.
• Design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure deployment architectures using Kubernetes and container technologies, including performance testing and bottleneck resolution.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and strategic planning, aligning deployment frameworks with trends in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and automation.

Minimum Education / Certification & Experience

BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience: BS+8, MS+6, PhD+3 years in engineering software environments. Proven use of Ansys or similar software, understanding of engineering practices, and experience deploying solutions within customer workflows. Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication skills, and English fluency. Ability to manage multiple complex projects, demonstrate professionalism and business acumen, and travel up to 25% domestically. Over 5 years of leading application deployments, expertise in Kubernetes, DevOps tools, Infrastructure as Code, performance testing, cloud platforms, and Python scripting.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Additional experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting roles (BS+12, MS+10, PhD+7). Ability to interact with senior management, travel up to 50%, basic programming knowledge (C#, JavaScript, HTML), and familiarity with agile project management.
