Lead Engineer – Food Manufacturing
Location: Southern Italy
Salary: Circa €65,000 + Benefits

We’re supporting a global manufacturing group in their search for a Lead Engineer to join their flagship food production facility based in Southern Italy . This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Director of Engineering , responsible for managing a team of 20 multi-skilled engineers across 3 shift patterns (Monday to Friday) .
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations across the engineering team to ensure smooth plant performance
- Manage and execute the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule
- Drive and deliver CAPEX projects , from planning to implementation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and HSE teams
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reliability, and operational excellence
- Develop and coach the engineering team, supporting skills and succession planning
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years' experience in an engineering role within manufacturing (FMCG or food preferred)
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience , with team management responsibility
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Fluent Italian speaker & Italian national
- Willing to relocate to or currently based in Southern Italy
