Leather Goods Technical Manager - Industrialization

Purpose of the role

As the Leather Goods Industrialization Technical Manager, you will play a critical role in the development of our luxury Handbags, SLGs and Belts. You will provide technical expertise in all aspects of the collection process, from pattern engineering, to managing timeline and train QC inspectors. You will work closely with the PD and Production team, factory partners and raw material suppliers to translate creative visions into meticulously crafted products.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in Product and Raw Materials technical reviews at Showroom Stage to fully understand product construction and required amendments for production readiness
• Travel independently across factories to oversee the Industrialization process throughout keeping an organized and time-efficient weekly schedule shared with the manager in line
• Involved in the review of Seal Samples managed by PD/Design and Development Tech Manager to capture all technical amendments to be achieved on the PPS (Pre-Production Samples) for final Production sign off
• Manage the PPS order, ensuring optimal technical solutions are implemented to achieve high-quality outcomes aligned with design intent and timely sign off to ensure a smooth production
• Monitor and manage industrialization timelines, proactively identifying and escalating potential risks to prevent production delays
• Thoroughly review and approve Teste di Serie (TDS) to ensure accuracy against PPS previously approved
• Create clear and comprehensive QC (Quality Control) guidelines and packs for each product to support consistent quality standards
• Train Finished Goods QC teams on product-specific requirements, construction details, and quality expectations
• Conduct ad hoc quality control checks on finished goods for small production runs when requested by the Production Manager
• Train warehouse teams on packaging standards for new styles, including handling processes for returns and repairs
• Support the Production Manager on management of repairs providing technical advice
• Support the Production Manager in production planning and follow-up, ensuring smooth execution and on-time delivery
• Attend meetings in London in key moments of the Industrialization
• Build a strong and trustworthy relationship with the factories and the key business stakeholders

• High quality PPS delivered on brief and on time for the key deadlines
• A production outcome that is resolved and on time
• Effective QC from third party following guidelines provided

Qualifications, Skills, Experience Required

• Proven experience (10+ years) as a leather goods technician, ideally within a luxury or high-end brand
• Deep understanding of Handbags and SLGs in all its aspects, materials application, construction and pattern engineering
• Skilled in traditional and modern techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, creative environment
• Passion for craftsmanship and luxury product excellence
• Very good product sensibility and understanding of a design, fashion product
• Italian speaker
