Italy being our second ‘home market’, Weerts Group has built a strong reputation in the Italian real estate market over the past years. A substantial portfolio of logistics warehousing projects has been developed in Italy from Milan to Bari and in all stages of development (early acquisition phase, under development and already fully developed).

Your Role

To support the continued growth of its activities in Italy, Weerts Group is seeking a talented and business-oriented Legal Counsel (Mid-Level or Senior) to join its legal team, focusing primarily on real estate and renewable energy projects.

You will play a key role in supporting the Group’s ambitious development plans across Italy. Working closely with the Italian commercial and technical teams, as well as with the legal and management teams at headquarters, you will provide practical and strategic legal advice throughout the entire lifecycle of projects and transactions.

This position will be based in Milan, where Weerts Group already has an established team of commercial and technical experts, and will require regular travel to Luxembourg.

Key Responsibilities

As Legal Counsel, you will provide day-to-day legal support on a broad range of matters related to the Group’s Italian operations, including:

  • Supporting the development of real estate and renewable energy projects from inception to completion;
  • Conducting and coordinating legal due diligence exercises;
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of agreements, including:
  • Letters of Intent (LOIs), term sheets, and other preliminary agreements
  • Real estate sale and purchase agreements;
  • Share purchase agreements (SPAs);
  • Lease agreements;
  • Construction and development contracts;
  • Commercial and operational agreements related to the Group’s activities;
  • Advising on permitting, regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters;
  • Assisting with real estate acquisitions, disposals, developments, and financing transactions;
  • Supporting the commercial and technical teams throughout project development and transactional processes;
  • Managing contract lifecycles and ensuring proper legal documentation and record-keeping;
  • Coordinating with external legal advisors, consultants, public authorities, and other stakeholders;
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and identifying potential risks and business opportunities.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in law from an Italian university, with strong academic credentials;
  • 7–10 years of professional experience, ideally gained within an international law firm, public notary office, or a company active in the real estate, infrastructure, or energy sectors;
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial, real estate, and transactional documentation;
  • Strong interest in real estate development, investment transactions, and renewable energy projects;
  • Experience in cross-border transactions and international environments is a strong advantage;
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Pragmatic, business-oriented, and capable of delivering practical legal solutions;
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English;
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
