As "Local Sales Manager" you will lead the commercial sales strategy that will contribute to the achievement of Viking EMEA's general objectives and more specifically to the profitability growth objectives in your territory. Your position drives sales in the regions of Italy and Greece while constantly aligning with other departments like Operations, Product Management, Marketing and Finance. You will be responsible for the sales of all Viking EMEA product lines. While reporting directly to the Sales Director of Viking EMEA, you will manage, develop and inspire a great team of sales and technical support experts.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a professional business relationship with large accounts
  • Practice key account management
  • Develop new business; target and prospect new customers per goals outlined for the region
  • Participate actively in industry associations
  • Develop sales within existing customers as well via approaching new parties (e.g. end-users, influencers, specifiers)
  • Build and maintain a relationship with key engineering firms that influence fire protection specifications
  • Contribute to the development of the sales and assure new products are launched in line with market requirements
  • Prepare and monitor local sales budget and support finance by contributing to credit control
  • Build, analyze and monitor KPIs by presenting periodic management reports and take actions to meet the company targets
  • Make the local sales teams perform at its best and act as a facilitator and mentor between central management and the local sales teams
  • Act as first contact for sales issues & local government authorities and take action
  • Require travel to local offices in Italy and occasionally to the rest of Europe

Qualifications & Experience

  • Background in technical sales within Fire Protection
  • Understanding of the jargon within the contracting business and people oriented
  • Ability to give excellent customer service and demonstrate account management values
  • Minimum 3 years managing a sales team
  • Demonstrated ability to establish vision, drive organizational change and deliver positive results in sales

  • Proven management skills and natural leadership, charisma
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (in Italian and English); can communicate, interact, and adapt to all levels through various channels and methods

  • Self-starter, well organized, able to prioritize and get things done
  • Listener and able to influence, motivate, and convince when needed
  • Result oriented and strong sense of commitment to deliver
