Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Card Office, ensuring supplies are fully stocked at both campuses.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student employees at both campuses.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to all patrons, both in person and by telephone.
  • Perform maintenance on Campus Card equipment located throughout the campus.
  • Regularly withdraw and deposit funds from transaction machines on campus with security.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve discrepancies; determine appropriate corrective actions within established guidelines and refer for action as appropriate.
  • Understand and explain policies and procedures, both financial and academic, of the University to students; remain in contact with appropriate University departments for up‑to‑date information.
  • Maintain the website and any updates to publications distributed by the Card Office.
  • Perform other related duties and projects assigned by the Manager.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee and student records.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

College degree and at least one year of customer service experience, preferably with cash handling.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to manage difficult or emotional customer situations calmly and respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos; excellent verbal and diplomatic skills are critical.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions; ability to problem solve.

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses

  • CS Gold / CBORD Software (preferred).
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Works, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), basic Internet applications, PeopleSoft Software.

Computer Skills

Ability to use MS Office, e‑mail, and other office automation systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Yes.

Physical Demands

Standing; working conditions heated.

Compensation

Salary Range: $23.40–$25.60 per hour.

Additional Information

No direct animal or patient contact and no requirement to operate university‑owned vehicles.
